Aircraft painting is a major challenge, as large surfaces have to be painted within a short period of time whilst maintaining a constant quality.

Airbus together with b+m developed a fully automated 3-component dosing systems for the processing of all paints required for painting the exterior surface of the Airbus A380. This system also cuts down the consumption of paint and solvent, whilst reducing painting and drying times considerably.

Airbus also made the right decision to use fully automated robotic painting equipment from b+m for painting landing flaps of their various aircraft.
